Recently purchased 2009 997 2S.. Steering Rack Leak. My local Porsche dealer found a slight hydraulic leak on the driver's side of my 2S steering rack during service ((33k miles todate). The tech recomends a replacment rack at circa £1700. Seeking advice. Am I okay to continue driving the car and plan to replace the rack at a later date or should I make an immediate repair? My first Porsche. All advice appreciated.

Is the hydraulic leak from the power steering? If so, it will certainly make it harder to turn the wheel as the fluid escapes, but is not dangerous per se. I'd definitely get it fixed rather than use it on the road. £1,700 seems alot, so its well worth shopping around.
